Welcome to KOiKO education!

We are a Finnish educational consulting company founded in 2023 by two experienced language teachers, Satu Koistinen and Jenni Kohl. We provide a wide range of professional development services for teachers, schools and other educational institutions, including training, coaching, and support with curriculum design and interpretation.  As educators and trainers, we also serve as engaging speakers who inspire our audiences.

Together, we have over 30 years of combined experience in teaching at primary and secondary schools, in training and mentoring teachers, and in leading educational development projects. Currently, both of us are on sabbatical to pursue doctoral research: Jenni’s PhD work at the University of Jyväskylä focuses on language-aware bilingual education, while Satu’s PhD at the University of Turku examines language curricula in basic education.

We know the Finnish school system inside and out, both through hands-on classroom experience and through curriculum development. We understand what a teacher’s daily life is like, as well as the learning opportunities and challenges that students of the 2020s face. Being multilingual ourselves, we approach education with a broad, international perspective.

Our Approach and Values

At KOiKO, we combine strong professional expertise with practical problem-solving and a focus on each participant’s needs. Our training sessions have been praised for their clarity and hands-on approach, providing concrete tools and fresh ideas that teachers can immediately apply in their classrooms. We believe in sharing solutions that make a real difference in everyday teaching work.

Each of our courses is built on the latest research and educational insights, and we emphasize turning that knowledge into practice. In our workshops, we encourage discussion and active participation. The atmosphere is kept collegial and relaxed – we find that a friendly, open environment helps educators learn from each other and gain confidence to try new approaches.
